Marley is a 4 year old male Maltese X. Marley can be dominant so requires a home that is familiar with this trait. An adult only home would suit best. Once you have established your leadership with Marley, he is very loyal and affectionate and wants to be with you at all times. Marley is good with other dogs and would be ok with another small or large breed dog. Marley needs a back yard to run and play when you are not there but also would love to be inside with you when you are home. Honey is a young bubbly girl who is looking for a home where she will get exercise every day. She would be great with a doggie friend however she doesn’t get along with cats. Honey needs a bit of time to learn walking on the lead and basic doggy rules not unlike any young dog at her age. It appears Honey has been an inside dog before as her housetraining is excellent. Due to her coat being matted we had to clip her right back, however it will grow long again and require regular brushing and grooming. Honey’s adoption fee is $300. Zanda, small female terrier dog

Zanda is a very sweet and playful young dog. She is very good with other dogs of all sizes. Zanda can be a little timid at first meeting but soon after she is looking to play and to get closer to you. She sleeps quietly at night in her basket and is excited to see you in the morning. Zanda appears to have been an inside dog before as her house training is very good.

Hi my name is Sammy. I am about 6 years old and for some reason my last family did not collect me from the pound after the ranger found me roaming the streets. The pound staff could see that I had something wrong with my back leg, and this would mean that I would not pass the rigorous health check applied to pound dogs here in Victoria. My only hope was to be taken by a rescue group.

Luckyily for me Rigbys Rescue works very closely with the pound I was in, and they could see that I am such a good dog that one little sore leg shouldn’t stand in the way of me finding a new home.

Rigbys Rescue has already provided all my basic vet work which includes – desexing, microchip, C5 Vaccination, heartworm test, flea treatment, worming, and heartworm treatment. To find out what was wrong with my leg I also had some x-rays.

It appears my problem is with my hip. Luckily this can be fixed! However it is quite an involved surgery and the cost is quite high. Our vet has given us a good discount on the surgery and the quote has come in at $700. After this operation I will fully recover and there is no reason why I can’t live a full and happy life.

Rigbys Rescue is now fundraising to help me get my operation so that I can find a new home. Would you please help out? This tiny little girl is only about 3kg and 2 years old. Priscilla is a little shy with people but is warming to her carers in her foster home slowly. She enjoys the company of other dogs and is not timid with them at all. She seems to be familiar with cats as she gets excited at the sight of a cat and wants to play, not in an aggressive way, but if their were cats in Priscilla’s new home they would definitely need to be used to
having dogs around. Even though Priscilla is shy with people she stays with you when you are outside, making sure that you aren’t going to leave her. Children over 12 would be ok with Priscilla and as she is only a young girl she still needs lots of exercise and socialisation with other dogs. Priscilla’s adoption fee is $320

Paddy is a young bouncy playful dog who will require regular exercise and stimulation. He still exhibits quite a lot of puppy behaviour but is also learning quickly in his foster home what is expected of him. Paddy travels very well in a car and loves to go anywhere with you. Paddy also enjoys the company of other dogs big or small. Paddy is still learning not to jump up in excitement when he greets you and because of this we recommend a household with older children (teenage) or adult only home. Paddy had a very long and luxurious coat which we have clipped right back to make it easier to care for. Paddy will require regular clipping, brushing and grooming.

Lexie is a very sweet gentle affectionate girl. She is a little timid and shy until she gets to know you. Once Lexie feels comfortable with you, she does not leave your side. Lexie would like a home where she will be inside with you most of the time and go out with you too when you go out. Due to her shyness Lexie would be best in an adult home. She is ok with other dogs and cats. Lexie is an Australian Terrier X, approximately 2 to 3 years. Lexie weighs 4.5kg and her adoptions fee is $300.

He is only young, 18 months old. He is a great size and is under 8kg. He is a bit bigger than your average JRT. Small enough to sit on your lap but big enough to be able to play and have fun with. He has a short easy care coat.

Kane really loves playing with other dogs but does play pretty full on, he would love to live with a canine buddy but it would need to be one able to handle a lot of play! He can hold is own even with much larger dogs. Kane absolutely adores young people and would make the ideal dog for a junior handler wanting to do dog training. He is both food and toy motivated making training easy and fun to work with him.

He is very smart and is taking to basic training extremely well. In just 2 weeks he has learnt sit, drop, come, beg, spin and is starting with roll over, crawl and bow. He is great on the lead and does not pull. He is also quite happy to rest in a crate for short periods.

Kane has started training for flyball and would really love to continue this with his new family as he would make a great height dog for a team. He loves to play fetch and tug of war. I am sure he would also enjoy agility. He would like to be an inside dog as he loves being around his family. His toilet training is going very well and has only had a few wet accidents in the kitchen – thou he does currently have access to a dog door. He does need a secure backyard if you are not going to be with him all day as he may try to go and find new friends.

He is currently being cared for in Geelong and comes with vouchers for free private training with an experienced dog trainer valued at $250 in the Geelong area.

Kane is a great dog who would fit into most situations well. He is not yappy or aggressive like some terriers. If you meet him you will fall in love with him. He would love another dog for company or an active family who will take him with them where-ever they go and keep him busy and stimulated. Kane would excel with even more training along with an active family who would like to spend time with him, take him for walks, throw the ball, go to the beach and most of all give him lots of love. Kane weighs 7.2kg. His adoption fee is $300.

Joey is a lovely little fella. A Jack Russell Terrier X, approximately 8 years old. Very well behaved, toilet trained and copes well both indoors and out. He likes to sit by your feet while you watch telly as much as he likes to lay outside in the sun. He walks extremely well on a lead and can keep up with the best of them. If you want to walk slow, he will walk quietly beside you. If you want to run, he’ll run like the wind next to you without even getting puffed!

Joey sleeps all night long with no problems (he is currently crated at night and is a very good boy). He doesn’t like thunder though and runs to you for cuddles! He gets along well with other dogs, big and small, but he likes to get in their face to get to know them, so would not be suitable with a dominant dog.

He is very motivated by food and would probably do very well at obedience. Joey is very well behaved and so easy to love. He loves to be with you and would love to be where he is allowed inside sometimes.

Joey would be best suited to a home with children over the age of 7 as he can get a little worried with kids in his face. Joey is desexed, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.

This little guy is cute as a button. He is very playful and gets along well with other dogs although he really thrives on human company and attention. He is only tiny so we are looking for a mature home where he can be pampered and close to his new family as much as possible. He will sit on your lap at any opportunity or by your feet. Hamish would love a home and family of his own and we feel he would do best in an only dog home as he loves your attention so much. Hamish is approximately 8 years old, is in excellent health. Hamish has had a full dental so with a good diet and the right care his teeth will remain in good condition. He has also had a Proheart Heartworm injection which lasts for 12 months.
